About the Brit Milah
-
The Meaning
A Brit Milah, or ritual circumcision, is one of the most significant traditions in Judaism. It is a covenantal ceremony performed on the eighth day of a baby boy's life (unless medically delayed) that marks his entry into the Jewish community.
-
The Mitzvah
This ceremony symbolizes faith, continuity, and a deep connection to Jewish heritage. More than a physical act, it is a profound expression of commitment to Jewish values and traditions, linking each generation to the covenant established thousands of years ago.
-
The Mohel
The Brit Milah is performed by a trained and certified mohel (ritual circumciser). I am certified by the Rabbinic Assembly and bring both religious and medical expertise to every ceremony, ensuring the highest standards of care and tradition.
-
The Ceremony
The ceremony includes blessings, the circumcision itself, and the baby’s naming. Family members and a Rabbi (if present) may also participate. I guide families through every step to ensure it is a memorable and spiritual experience.
